The CIS Executive Committee supported the idea of Uzbekistan to jointly create a cycle of documentaries

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) –– The CIS Executive Committee will provide comprehensive support to Uzbekistan in the creation of documentary films on the achievements and successes of the CIS countries, important milestones in the history of the formation and development of the Commonwealth.

This was during a meeting in Tashkent betweeb the Director General of "Uzbekkino" Firdavs Abdukhalikov and Chairman of the CIS Executive Committee Sergei Lebedev.

“The CIS Executive Committee will provide all possible support to Uzbekistan and, in particular, to Uzbekkino in the implementation of this interesting project. We are open to dialogue, and are ready to help with consultations, and in organizational and logistical issues. This cooperation is becoming especially important in light of the fact that Uzbekistan will chair the CIS in the coming year,” Lebedev said.

He told in detail what events will be held in 2020, and how film crews from Uzbekistan can take part in them. Lebedev also expressed his readiness to assist in negotiations between Uzbekkino and Interstate Broadcasting Company Mir to establish joint work on films.

“We will look for the shortest and most effective ways to implement this project,” concluded Lebedev.

“It is imperative that the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan to strengthen interstate dialogue in all areas and spheres find their practical implementation. I am convinced that we will be able to implement the project at a high level, and highlight the main events of next year as the year of the chairmanship of Uzbekistan in the CIS,” the head of Uzbekkino Firdavs Abdukhalikov said.

In the near future, the parties will sign a Memorandum of Cooperation and will proceed to detailed negotiations on the implementation of the project. It is planned that the films will tell about cooperation between Uzbekistan and the CIS countries in 2020, and will be broadcast through state channels of the CIS countries. In addition, it is planned to prepare a 10-minute documentary for screening at the Summit of the Heads of States of the CIS countries, which will be held on 16 October in Tashkent.
