Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Chairman of the State Committee of the Republic of Tatarstan for Tourism Sergei Ivanov held talks at the Ministry of Tourism and Sports as part of a working trip to Uzbekistan.

Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Sports of the Republic of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov acquainted the guests with the tourism potential of the country, measures of the Government to develop this area, conditions and opportunities for investing in tourism infrastructure.

The guests’ special attention was drawn to the measures taken in Uzbekistan to support the tourism business during the pandemic, a wide range of benefits and credit and financial instruments for all industry participants, which contributed to the accelerated recovery of tourism in Uzbekistan.

The delegation of Tatarstan was also familiarized with measures to ensure the safety of tourists, including the system of sanitary and epidemiological security “Uzbekistan. Safetravel GUARANTEED ". The guests showed special interest in the creation of the tourist police of Uzbekistan, its technical equipment and the tasks performed.

According to Ivanov, Uzbekistan is one of the safest places for tourists to visit, and the country’s rich tourism potential, a huge number of architectural monuments, national Uzbek cuisine, a variety of tourism and a diversified range of tourist services turn it into one of the international tourism centers.

“Over the past few years - before the start of the pandemic, Uzbekistan very quickly increased the tourist flow and, of course, we are interested in this experience. Also interesting is the creation of tourist villages, auls and makhallas, local tourist centers and products. In addition, it is interesting for us to study the experience of Uzbekistan on the functioning of the tourist police,” said Sergei Ivanov.

The parties also discussed the system of training personnel for the tourism industry in Uzbekistan, the activities of the International University of Tourism "Silk Road" in Samarkand and issues of international cooperation in the field of education in tourism.

As a result of the negotiations, an agreement was reached on further expanding cooperation in the field of tourism between Uzbekistan and Tatarstan, taking practical measures to increase the mutual tourist flow.

At the end of the negotiations, a presentation of the tourism potential of Tatarstan and a meeting of Sergei Ivanov with representatives of the tourism business of Uzbekistan took place in the building of the Representative Office of the Republic of Tatarstan in Tashkent, during which practical issues of deepening cooperation between the tourism sector of Uzbekistan and Tatarstan were discussed.
