Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 25 November, as part of outreach to cover the new Laws, a training seminar was organized in Jizzakh region, in which more than 100 representatives of regional banks took part. The purpose of this event is to inform the meeting participants about the innovations of the Laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On currency regulation” and “On banks and banking activities”.

During the seminar, the Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank B.Yu. Abubakirov noted that the adopted new Laws meet international standards and will serve as the basis for providing a wide range of amenities and opportunities for consumers of banking services.

During the training highlights of the laws. In particular, the Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On banks and banking activities” includes such innovations as permission to purchase shares of banks, corporate governance, prudential requirements and risk management, protection of the rights of consumers of banking services, optimization of the lending process and retail services.

The second part of the event discussed new opportunities created for consumers of banking services in accordance with the new Law of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On currency regulation”. In particular, explanatory work was carried out on innovations and created favorable conditions when conducting currency transactions for individuals and legal entities.

The event participants received detailed answers to all questions of interest. Explanatory work on the adopted laws will be continued in other regions of the country.
