Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- In the third quarter of 2023, citizens of Uzbekistan mainly directed their financial resources to purchase cars (18.2%), obtain education (15.8%) and treatment (11%), according to the report of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan entitled “Review of Consumer Sentiment” for the third quarter of 2023.
This review is based on the results of a population survey. According to the report, the population expresses intention to allocate funds to education (15.3%) in the future. Respondents also noted that they were planning expenses for home renovation (10.6%), buying a car (9.8%) and other needs (9.7%).
The report highlights increased demand for home appliances and leisure travel. Spending on wedding ceremonies increased from 5.1% to 7.8%.
Demand for loans decreased by 0.6 percentage points compared to the same period last year. Among respondents with different income levels, only those who receive up to 2 million soums, from 7 to 10 million soums and over 10 million soums expressed their intention to take out a loan in the coming months. In all other groups, a decrease in requests for loans is expected.
The vast majority of respondents (74%) expressed the expectation that the economic situation in Uzbekistan will improve over the next three years.
