Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 19 August this year, the Department for Increasing Financial Literacy and Retraining Bank Specialists in the city of Almalyk held a regular round table on improving women’s financial literacy.
The next educational event was attended by about 50 women, aged 18 to 50, from various settlements of the city of Almalyk, among which the main audience were women included in the "Women’s Notebook", novice entrepreneurs, deputy chairmen of mahallas for women’s and family business as well as women from the countryside.
During the roundtable, the Central Bank employees covered the main issues of financial literacy, such as the formation of savings through bank deposits, the procedure for calculating interest on deposits and loans, the effective use of digital banking services and products, ensuring financial security, setting financial goals, and protecting consumer rights financial services. The rules of responsible borrowing and the importance of building a positive credit history are also specifically explained.
The interactive format of the event allowed the participants to get answers to their questions.
The Central Bank plans to further conduct educational interactive events to improve the financial literacy of women in other regions of the republic.
