Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Center for Uzbek Language and Culture has opened at the Zhumabek Tashenov University in Chimkent, Dunyo news agency reports.

The initiative to open and equip this center belongs to the Andijan State Pedagogical Institute (ASPI), which is developing partnerships and exchanges with the Chimkent university on the basis of a memorandum of cooperation.

The University named after Zhumabek Tashenev is the only university in Kazakhstan that provides training for students in undergraduate and graduate programs in the direction of “Teachers of Uzbek language and literature.”

The opening of the center was a kind of gift for the 25th anniversary of this university from Uzbek partners.

The rector of the ASPI, Bakhtiyor Rasulov, and the Ambassador of the Assembly of the Kazakh People in Uzbekistan, Professor Hulkar Khamroeva, made a great contribution to the opening of this center, whose activities are aimed at the cultural and spiritual rapprochement of the two fraternal countries, the development of cooperation and friendly relations. The “Dustlik” community of the Uzbek ethnocultural community in Kazakhstan provided great assistance in enriching the center with books.

The opening of this Center was a contribution to strengthening relations between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan in the field of education and culture, which were raised to a new qualitative level and filled them with practical content.

The center will make it possible to widely promote the national culture, literature and traditions of Uzbekistan in Kazakhstan.

Let us recall that yesterday the Uzbek Language Center opened at one of the leading educational and research institutions in the world - Oxford University, which will accept its first students in January 2024.
