Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The case of two former officials in Khorezm region, who were convicted of having sexual intercourse with inmates of a family orphanage in Urgench, has been submitted to the Tashkent City Criminal Court for consideration. This was announced by the official representative of the Supreme Court of Uzbekistan, Aziz Abidov.

According to the Code of Criminal Procedure, for a more complete, objective and timely consideration of a criminal case, it can be transferred from one court to another by decision of the chairman of a higher court.

According to the Supreme Court, the case will be considered in a closed court session.

In September 2022, the Khiva District Criminal Court sentenced the head of the orphanage, Yulduz Khudaibergenova, the former head of the department of justice of Khorezm region, Oybek Masharipov, and the former head of Yangiaryk district department for emergency situations, Anvar Kuryazov.

Yulduz Khudaibergenova was sentenced to 5.5 years in prison with deprivation of the right to hold managerial and financially responsible positions for 1 year. At the same time, Oybek Masharipov and Anvar Kuryazov received 1.5 years of restriction of freedom.
