The case not be opened if information about traffic violations is not received within 48 hours

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At a plenary meeting of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, a draft law proposing amendments and additions to the Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan on administrative responsibility was considered in the first reading.

According to the draft law, a case for violating traffic rules will not be initiated if information about the violation is not received within 48 hours.

It also envisages the termination of consideration of cases if the violation was registered by automated means of photo and video recording, there is no information about the owner of the vehicle, or if information about the violation was not sent to an authorized person within the prescribed period.

Additionally, the bill proposes to establish administrative liability for violations committed while driving small vehicles with electric motors and other individual vehicles, including scooters, mopeds and bicycles.

The draft also includes Article 171 of the Code, which establishes a procedure for terminating administrative cases in relation to vehicles belonging to emergency medical services and fire and rescue units, in order to avoid unnecessary bureaucracy.

It is expected that the adoption of this bill will improve the protection of the legitimate interests of citizens, ensure compliance with traffic rules, prevent road accidents and improve road safety.

The bill was approved by deputies in the first reading.
