Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – On 25 August, the first cable car project in Jizzakh region was commissioned in the tourist and recreational zone “Zomin” under construction in Zaamin district of Jizzakh region.

The official opening ceremony was attended by Umid Shodiyev, Chairman of the Tourism Committee, Alisher Abduganiev, khokim of Zomin district, representatives of the public and the media.

"This project, which is being implemented on the initiative of our president, will serve to increase the incomes of residents of Zomin and the entire Jizzakh region, increase youth employment. After the project is implemented, many infrastructures will be developed, including catering, transport, souvenirs, restaurants, cafes and other types of services where local residents will work and earn income," Umid Shadiyev said. 

Work has begun on the construction of a modern cable car and multi-storey parking lots on the territory of the Zomin shopping mall. The land area is 2 hectares, the cost of construction and installation works of the project is 133.3 billion soums.

In June 2022, a contract was signed with the well-known Swiss company Bartolet AG for the supply and installation of equipment for the cable car, the total cost of which is 6.72 million euros.

The Zomin cable car of the complex, built in the village of Duoba in Zomin district, consists of 11 columns with 12 towers. In particular, the height of the 11th tower is 35 meters, the largest distance between the 8th and 9th pillars is 615 meters. The highest slope of the cable car is 42 degrees. The length of the cable car is 2102 meters, and 36 houses of modern design are ready to serve tourists. The maximum speed of movement is up to 6 meters per second. During the movement, the distance between the booths is 141 meters, and the ability to serve 1200 tourists per hour.

It should be noted that the height of the lower station is 1961.1 meters above sea level, and the upper one is 2490.6 meters. The height difference between the stations is 529.5 meters.

In the tourist and recreational zone "Zomin", work processes are continuing on four projects with a total cost of 456 billion soums. In particular, projects are being implemented for a multi-storey parking lot, a modern restaurant, suspension bridges, and one modern wellness center. A modern cable car, 133.3 billion soums from projects, has been put into operation today.

Recently opened tourist facilities in the tourist and recreational zone "Zomin" allow tourists from all over the world to enjoy the natural beauty at an altitude of 2400 meters above sea level.

Also, the "Suffa Plateau 2400" will soon open in the tourist area. It is planned to create an international all-season resort and tourist complex "Uriklisoy".
