Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- British Foreign Secretary David Cameron will visit Uzbekistan on 23 April, the press service of the British Embassy in Tashkent said in a statement.

During his visit to Tashkent on 23 April, Lord Cameron will meet with Foreign Minister Bakhtiyor Saidov.

During his meeting, Lord Cameron will promote an even closer partnership on key issues including regional security, greater engagement in education, climate change, bilateral trade and business ties.

David Cameron will become the second British Foreign Secretary to visit Uzbekistan.

The last British Foreign Secretary to visit Uzbekistan was Malcolm Rifkind in February 1997.

The current visit is aimed at expanding cooperation in the fields of economic development, education and independence in the region.
