Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the International Institute of Central Asia with a delegation of the Berghof Foundation (Germany) led by the head of the department for Afghanistan, Central and Southeast Asia, Basir Feda.

The German delegation was familiarized with the activities of MICA, reforms in Uzbekistan, the achievements of the Central Asian states in the light of intensified regional cooperation, and the dynamics of cooperation between countries within the “CA+” format.

Following the meeting, the Berghof Foundation’s readiness to establish cooperation with MICA in areas of mutual interest was confirmed.

The Berghof Foundation was founded in 1971 by German physicist, entrepreneur and philanthropist Georg Zundel with the goal of “supporting efforts to prevent political and social violence and achieve peace by transforming conflicts through peaceful means.” 

The Foundation’s advisory board includes former ministers, parliamentarians and other high-ranking representatives from countries around the world. Today, the Foundation cooperates with more than 100 major think tanks and NGOs from the EU, USA, Asia and Africa.
