The Beijing Declaration on Cooperation between Universities of Uzbekistan and China was signed

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 22-23 January, the Uzbek-Chinese educational forum, organized by the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, is being held in Beijing.

More than 110 rectors of universities in China and 37 Uzbekistan took part in academic exchange within the forum, and negotiations are underway to strengthen cooperation between higher educational institutions.

After the forum was declared open, the Beijing Declaration on cooperation in the field of higher education between the two countries was signed. This document aims to achieve the following results:

1. Creation of an exchange mechanism between Uzbek and Chinese higher educational institutions.

Creating an institutional platform for cooperation and exchange between higher educational institutions of Uzbekistan and China, promoting the deepening and strengthening of cooperation in the field of higher education between the two countries, creating a model of Central Asian-Chinese educational cooperation.

2. Creation of the “Uzbek-Chinese Association of Universities”.

Development of close cooperation between member universities of the association in the field of specialist training, scientific research, personnel exchange, and language exchange.

3. Establishing cooperation between Uzbekistan and China on quality digital education.

The use of new technologies, such as big data and artificial intelligence, the joint creation of an intelligent educational platform, the development of high-quality educational resources, the joint creation of new concepts, new models and new mechanisms for the operation of digital education; modernization of education, support for digitalization of educational processes, promoting the development of digital education in the world.

4. Serving the economic and social development of Uzbekistan and China.

Strengthening innovative cooperation, actively promoting the flow of effective personnel, knowledge, technology and other resources between universities and enterprises of the two countries, organizing a number of interschool, school-entrepreneurial innovation projects, and conducting joint research. Promoting the high-quality development of the “One Belt, One Road” initiative.

5. Development of mutual education between Uzbekistan and China.

Taking advantage of university resources, encouraging and supporting scholars from both countries, and strengthening understanding of development patterns, national politics, history and culture of both countries. Joint organization of summer schools and summer camps, strengthening cultural exchange with youth, as well as promoting the development of education in Uzbekistan and China.
