The Ambassador of Uzbekistan is accredited to the OSCE

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ambassador of Uzbekistan to Austria Bakhtiyor Ibragimov presented his credentials to Secretary General of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) Helga Schmid.

During the ceremony, current issues of bilateral cooperation were discussed.

The Secretary General expressed high appreciation for the dynamics of Uzbekistan’s relationship with the OSCE, noting a significant breakthrough in cooperation thanks to the reforms carried out by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

Particular attention was paid to the active regional policy of Uzbekistan, which is a supporter of regional cooperation, contributing to a positive atmosphere in Central Asia.

Issues of developing cooperation with the OSCE Project Coordinator in Uzbekistan in support of socio-economic and democratic reforms in the country were also discussed.

Uzbekistan has been a member of the OSCE since 1992.

Ambassador Bakhtiyor Ibragimov is also the Permanent Representative of Uzbekistan to the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty Organization (CTBTO), headquartered in Vienna.
