The Aftermath of a Mudslide on the Kamchik Pass Cleared Following Heavy Rainfall
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 7 June at 17:04, the duty unit received a report about an incident at the 137.7-kilometer mark of highway A-373 “Tashkent — Osh.” Due to heavy downpours, a flow of mud, debris, and rainwater descended from a mountain slope onto the roadway, "Vodiy-Tashkent".
Rescue units from the Kamchik Special Search, Fire, and Rescue Department, along with representatives of relevant services, promptly arrived at the scene. Emergency work to clear the consequences of the incident was immediately initiated.
To prevent traffic congestion, vehicle movement on this section was temporarily restricted to one lane. Later, the Ministry of Emergency Situations announced that the aftermath of the incident had been fully resolved and traffic on the pass was restored in both directions.
