Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- By the decision of the Banking Supervision Committee of the Central Bank of the Republic of Uzbekistan from 30 July 2020, the accreditation certificate of the representative office of the National Bank of the Republic of Pakistan in the city of Tashkent was canceled.

The decision was made in accordance with the request of the National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) to close the NBP’s banking operations in the markets of Central Asia and Azerbaijan, including their representative office in Tashkent in connection with the adoption of the Business Strategy of the Bank’s international operations.

The NBP office in Tashkent was opened with the aim of strengthening cooperation in the banking and investment sphere between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Republic of Pakistan, and began its activity on 29 November 1995 on the basis of an accreditation certificate issued by the Central Bank of Uzbekistan.
