Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- At the forty-second plenary session of the Senate, the Law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with further improvement of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan" was considered.

It was noted that the country is taking systematic measures to improve the system of state financial control over the effective management of public financial resources, targeted and rational use of budgetary funds, as well as to ensure the effective organization of the implementation of legislative acts.

At the same time, at present, the need to increase the openness and transparency of the activities of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan, determine the goals and procedures for its control activities, as well as clarify the functions of the Accounts Chamber for exercising state control over the implementation of laws, including in the field of government purchases.

In this regard, this Law envisages the empowerment of the Accounts Chamber with the authority to draw up a protocol on administrative offenses for petty theft and violation of public procurement laws, and the bodies of the State Financial Control of the Ministry of Finance - for petty theft.

Changes are also being made to provide for the obligations of the Accounts Chamber of the Republic of Uzbekistan to post on its website information about work plans, financial offenses and the results of their elimination, as well as quarterly informing the public about its activities.

In addition, the forms and types of control carried out by the Accounts Chamber are expanding, the distinctive aspects of control measures related to audit, verification and study are disclosed, and the mechanisms for their implementation are legally fixed.

In turn, members of the Senate, during the discussion of the Law, noted that the changes and additions being made serve to further increase the efficiency of the correct organization of the activities of the Accounts Chamber, the establishment of its systemic control over budgetary funds.

The law was approved by the senators.
