Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Today, on 12 December, the 6th Global Entrepreneurship Week GEW-2022 (Global Entrepreneurship Week) started at TEAM University in Tashkent. This year the main theme of the week was chosen - "Entrepreneurship in the field of tourism and hospitality".

The official opening ceremony was attended by Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Nusratilla Zikrillaev, Director of GEN Uzbekistan Hikmat Abdurakhmanov, Israeli Ambassador to Uzbekistan Zehavit Ben Hillel, Director General of TEAM University Abdurasul Yusupov, Dean of TEAM University Erdogan Ekiz, as well as representatives of government agencies, commercial organizations , universities, financial institutions, international organizations, embassies, students and others.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Nusratilla Zikrillaev greeted all the participants on behalf of the Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage Aziz Abdukhakimov and emphasized the importance of this week:

“As you know, the tourism industry has been identified by the head of state as one of the strategic sectors of the national economy of Uzbekistan, new mechanisms are being introduced to stimulate travel, such as cashback and tax-free systems, and business introduction procedures are being optimized. The Entrepreneurship Week is an important platform for the exchange of information, discussion of topical issues and proposals for improving the business environment, identifying new growth points and directions in the field of tourism and hospitality.”

It should be noted that in Uzbekistan this initiative is organized by the GEN of Uzbekistan for the sixth time. The main organizers of the week are the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan and TEAM University.

During the event, the speakers delivered lectures for young entrepreneurs and shared their experience. A panel discussion was held on the topic “Modern trends and prospects in the field of tourism and hospitality management in Uzbekistan: the views of the government, business communities and investors” and a presentation on the topic “Samarkand Tourism Forum as a developing platform for the exchange of views in the field of tourism”.

More than 10 events will be organized during the week: discussions, trainings, master classes and other types of events.

The 6th Global Entrepreneurship Week GEW-2022 will run until 16 December.
