Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 12 December 2024, the 17th meeting of the Uzbekistan-European Union Parliamentary Cooperation Committee took place in Brussels. The meeting was attended by a delegation from the Oliy Majlis (Parliament) of the Republic of Uzbekistan, led by the First Deputy Speaker of the Senate, Sodik Safoyev.
The meeting focused on key issues of the current agenda and the prospects for further development of bilateral cooperation between Uzbekistan and the European Union.
Participants highlighted significant progress in strengthening partnership relations, emphasizing priority areas for cooperation.
Special attention was given to enhancing interparliamentary cooperation and the implementation of joint initiatives in areas such as sustainable development, trade, energy, and ecology.
In addition, it was decided to hold the next meeting of the Uzbekistan-EU Parliamentary Cooperation Committee in Uzbekistan in 2025.
