Textile workers of Uzbekistan to take part in a prestigious international exhibition in Germany

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A delegation of representatives of 15 textile enterprises of Uzbekistan will take part in one of the most prestigious international textile exhibitions in the world "Heimtextile - 2023", which will be held from 10 to 13 January at the Messe Frankfurt exhibition site in Germany the city of Frankfurt am Main, Dunyo news agency reports.

The participation of textile workers in Uzbekistan is supported by the Export Promotion Agency under the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade and the Uztekstilprom Association, as well as by the diplomatic missions of our republic in the cities of Berlin and Frankfurt am Main.

The international trade fair "Heimtextile" has been held annually since 1971. After the coronavirus pandemic, this year it is planned to again be held in the traditional format.

The exhibition is annually visited not only by the leaders of the international textile market, but also by specialists in retail or wholesale trade, designers of furniture, interiors, hotel equipment and many other areas of the sphere. In particular, according to the organizers, more than 1,300 enterprises and 4,700 specialists expressed their interest in participating in the exhibition this year.

Representatives of Uzbekistan will take part in one of the central pavilions of the exhibition with a national stand, which will be located on an area of 200 square meters.

Within the framework of the exhibition, it is planned not only to participate, but also to hold a number of B2B meetings with representatives of leading European enterprises in order to expand investment and export opportunities. At the same time, it is planned to attract a number of European enterprises to Uzbekistan, to develop specific proposals to increase export contracts.

According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Berlin, relations between textile manufacturers of our country and German importing enterprises within the framework of this exhibition are being strengthened every year. In particular, contracts worth more than US$12 million were signed as part of the exhibition in 2022, and new export and investment agreements are planned to be signed at the current exhibition.

Today, the main part of the textile products exported by the textile workers of Uzbekistan to the EU countries is supplied to Germany and Poland. Yarn, various fabrics, as well as finished products, such as bags, sheets, towels, are sent from our country to Germany. In German stores, the number of shirts, suits and other types of clothing produced in Uzbekistan is increasing. It is important that in 2021, within the framework of the GSP + system, duty-free export of 6,200 types of products to the European Union is possible, and, in turn, the free entry of textile industry enterprises to European markets without any restrictions is guaranteed.

In particular, the complete elimination by Uzbekistan in recent years of forced labor in the cotton harvest, the effectiveness of the measures taken to develop the textile industry and ensure basic labor rights are the reasons for the increased interest of many international brands in our country. As a result of the meetings of the delegations of our country held at the initiative of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany, the German international brands C&A, S.Oliver, Digel, Carl Gross, New Yorker Fashion, Falke, Dibella, Koppermann and other companies express their readiness to establish mutually beneficial cooperation with Uzbek manufacturers.

German buyers are very satisfied with the quality of products of the textile industry in Uzbekistan. This is an important factor in increasing demand for them in European markets, including Germany.
