Termez International Trade Center – Intermex presented in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 14 October this year, a presentation of the Termez International Trade Center - Intermex is being held at the Tashkent City Congress Hall in the capital.

During the event, representatives of the Khokimiyat of Surkhandarya region, the Ministry of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the State Customs Committee and the Association of Exporters of Uzbekistan spoke about the economic and technical potential of the Termez-Intermex International Trade Center, opportunities and prospects for entrepreneurs, benefits and preferences, measures of support for businessmen.

The Termez International Trade Center was created in accordance with the decree of the President of Uzbekistan from 12 November 2020 “On measures to further develop the activities of special economic and small industrial zones in Surkhandarya region and the city of Tashkent”. Due to its location in the border area in the south of the republic, the center will significantly increase the volume and intensity of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade with the countries of Central and South Asia - Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iran and others.

This is a unique project for Uzbekistan and a free trade zone with a total area of 260,000 square meters, which allows entrepreneurs to carry out retail and wholesale trade without paying customs duties when importing goods.

In addition, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 409 from 1 July 2021, citizens of Afghanistan and other foreign citizens, as well as stateless persons, can enter and stay on the territory of the Termez International Trade Center for 10 days without obtaining an entry visa to Uzbekistan.

 

Entrepreneurs can purchase the following lots at the Termez International Trade Center Intermex:

•Wholesale and retail stores

•Production sites;

• Dry and refrigerated warehouses;

•Zone of the logistics center;

•Multifunctional medical clinic;

•Hotel and hostel;

•Restaurant and catering areas;

•Car service and gas station.

Premises in Intermex are given to the full ownership of the buyers. There are tax incentives for property owners.

The project is currently at the completion stage. Commissioning is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. Within one quarter after the launch of the project, it is expected to attract more than 1 million visitors from Uzbekistan and abroad.
