In particular, amendments have been made to the laws "On Citizens’ Self-Government Bodies" and "On Elections of the Citizens’ Assembly Chairperson," extending the term of office for chairpersons of citizens’ assemblies from three to five years. Additionally, in the event of early vacancy, elections will now be held for a full five-year term.
Furthermore, the powers of election commissions in the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions, and the city of Tashkent have been clarified regarding the organization and conduct of elections for citizens’ assembly chairpersons.
