Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The Minister of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Sherzod Shermatov, held a meeting with Kağan Terzioğlu, the CEO of the VEON Group of Companies.

The meeting focused on expanding cooperation and further developing Uzbekistan’s digital sector.

During the meeting, the new CEO of Beeline Uzbekistan, Andrey Pyatakhin, was introduced; he will start his role on 1 December 2024.

Additionally, the discussion addressed the continued development of technological infrastructure in Uzbekistan, attracting international investments, and strengthening cooperation in the telecommunications sector.

The parties also considered the need for necessary infrastructure and expanding the range of services for the population, given the increasing internet connectivity coverage as digital services evolve in the country.

One of the key topics of the meeting was cybersecurity, discussing projects related to the development of international data centers in Uzbekistan, as well as areas concerning secure internet and data transmission.

Furthermore, opportunities for creating new jobs in Uzbekistan through the development of IT outsourcing and other services, along with the utilization of highly skilled personnel, were also reviewed.
