Members of Uzbekistan team were selected in national qualification round, which took place at Inha University in Tashkent on 16-17 August 2017. Representatives of Tashkent city Council of Uzbekistan Youth Union, LG Electronics and Inha University in Tashkent selected four finalists among 18 talented participants. Temur Khodjaev, Abdulaziz Salimov, Mirali Giyesov and Mavluda Kuchkaralieva booked the right to participate in the Global IT Challenge.
Before the trip to Vietnam, all four members of Uzbekistan team underwent a free training courses on visual programming Scratch and some other software, which were conducted under the guidance of assistant professor of Inha University in Tashkent Jakhongir Raimbekov.
During the Global IT Challenge, judges from the Computer Engineering Department of the Korean Higher University in Seoul and IT experts of LG Electronics evaluated the works of participants. The judges handed over the Excellence Award in the eCreative challenge. The judges highly appreciated the ability of Uzbek team to solve problems and to think creatively using modern technological tools.
In 2017, students and students from 16 countries of the Asian region, including China, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan were selected to participate in several categories of the competition.
