TBC Uzbekistan to emit Visa cards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — TBC Bank Uzbekistan (TBC UZ) has entered into a long-term strategic partnership with Visa to enhance global payment infrastructure and money transfer capabilities.

As part of TBC Uzbekistan, a leading digital banking ecosystem in Central Asia serving 16 million unique registered users, this collaboration will lay the foundation for issuing Visa cards and implementing additional payment solutions through the Visa Direct platform. This platform enables fast domestic and international transfers, expanding payment options for TBC customers and enhancing their capabilities for online shopping, international transactions, and money transfers.

TBC UZ plans to issue Visa cards, allowing customers to make seamless online purchases, including on international platforms like Amazon. The cards will be convenient for use both domestically and abroad.

TBC UZ customers will also have access to loyalty programs, such as cashback and other bonuses. Visa cards will be integrated into TBC Uzbekistan’s existing digital ecosystem, which includes products like Payme — a payment application for individuals and small businesses — and Payme Nasiya, which offers installment payment services.

Nika Kurdiani, CEO of TBC Uzbekistan, stated, "The partnership with Visa is a significant step towards providing innovative and convenient financial services in Uzbekistan. The launch of new Visa products within TBC Uzbekistan will enhance our customers’ payment and transfer capabilities, ensuring safe and convenient ways to manage finances both domestically and internationally. We are committed to offering a top-notch digital banking experience, and this collaboration underscores our dedication to innovation and meeting customer needs."

Evgeny Lisnyak, Senior Director and Head of Strategic Partnerships at Visa for Ukraine, Georgia, the CIS, and Southeast Europe, added, "We are excited to collaborate with TBC in Uzbekistan, the largest country by population in Central Asia, where there is a high demand for modern digital financial services. Like TBC, we have been operating in this country for a long time, and we are pleased that this partnership will provide access to new Visa and Visa Direct products for millions of people, expanding their capabilities for international and domestic payments."
