Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- An improved system of reimbursement (refund) of an excess amount of value added tax is entirely focused on the interests of taxpayers.

If from the beginning of the year the VAT refund regime was in effect only for a certain category of taxpayers, then in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers No. 489 "On measures to improve tax administration associated with foreign legal entities and value added tax" conditions and procedures are simplified and apply to all business entities that are VAT payers.

Applications are submitted to the state tax authorities at the place of registration. Large taxpayers - to the Interregional State Tax Inspectorate for Large Taxpayers.

The review process is indicated by a time frame:

- expedited (no later than 7 days) for large taxpayers, diplomatic missions, persons holding a bank guarantee, participants in production sharing agreements ("zero rate") and participants in tax monitoring.

- according to the general procedure (no later than 60 days) for other payers of value added tax.

The satisfied documents go to the Ministry of Finance.

Execution of payment orders (funds from the state budget are transferred to the taxpayer's bank account).

As of 1 January - 9 October, the state tax service received 6,295 applications for the amount of 7.73 trillion soums. After consideration of 2,773 documents were satisfied and sent to the Ministry of Finance. Since the beginning of the year, taxpayers have received funds in the amount of 4.54 trillion soums.
