Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) —  On 4 September, in Kashkadarya region, a tax inspector, while congratulating second-grade students on the start of the new school year, handed out reminders to the children for their parents regarding land and property tax payments.

The incident occurred at Secondary School No. 14 in the Nishan district.

The Press Service of the Children’s Ombudsman strongly condemned the inspector's actions, emphasizing that interference in the educational process and addressing children with such demands is entirely unacceptable.

The Ombudsman’s statement highlighted that children should not be held responsible for their parents' tax obligations and involving them in such processes is contrary to their rights and interests.

The State Tax Committee also condemned the inspector's behavior. The committee announced that an internal investigation has been initiated against the inspector, and all employees of territorial units have been warned about the inadmissibility of such actions.
