Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — Rustam Minnikhanov, the Head of the Republic of Tatarstan, met with Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov, the Minister of Energy of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
The meeting took place as part of the Tatarstan Oil, Gas, and Chemical Forum at the "Kazan Expo."
Minnikhanov expressed gratitude for the Minister’s participation in the forum and for the focus on enhancing cooperation with Tatarstan. He highlighted that mutual trade volumes are increasing, noting that in the past year, trade turnover between Tatarstan and Uzbekistan reached $370 million, marking a 27% increase. “We need to increase both the volume and range of mutual supplies of goods and services. We have everything necessary for this,” he emphasized.
Work is underway with the involvement of leading Tatarstan companies. With Uzbekistan’s support, the Chirchik and Jizzakh chemical-industrial technoparks are operational. New projects include the creation of industrial parks in the Navoi Special Economic Zone and Bukhara Region. “This is a significant contribution to strengthening the partnership between our countries,” Minnikhanov noted.
The meeting also covered operational issues related to the implementation of joint projects.
