Tashkent to receive 200 units of 18-meter buses

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On measures to reform the public transport system" was adopted.

According to the Resolution:

- a system for organizing and financing passenger transportation at marginal fares on city bus routes will be gradually introduced on the basis of a gross contract;

- settlements with carriers will be carried out on the basis of the criteria "traveled path" and "quality";

- the practice of establishing a targeted plan for the daily collection of tolls will be abolished;

- automated dispatch control and a control system will be organized to monitor the fulfillment by carriers of route indicators, determine and evaluate the volume and quality of work performed, control payment for travel and the quality of services provided.

The introduction of a new network of bus routes in the cities, the phased organization of an automated payment system and an automated dispatch service will be ensured:

- until 1 March 2023 - in the city of Tashkent;

- until 1 August 2023 - in the cities of Andijan, Samarkand, Namangan Karshi and Urgench;

- until 1 June 2024 - in the city of Nukus and other regional centers.

A phased introduction of a system for organizing and financing passenger transportation on the basis of a gross contract will be ensured:

- from 15 April 2023 - in the city of Tashkent;

- from 1 January 2024 - in the cities of Andijan, Samarkand, Namangan, Karshi and Urgench;

- from 1 June 2024 - in the city of Nukus and other regional centers;

Agreements have been reached on the purchase of:

- 200 eighteen-meter and 500 twelve-meter buses running on natural gas, as well as 300 twelve-meter electric buses for public transport in the city of Tashkent;

- 1,000 natural gas buses for public transport in the city of Nukus and regional centers.
