The training is organized by the UNESCO Office in Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Sport Affairs of Uzbekistan and Uzbekistan Businesswomen’s Association.
The main goal of the event is to familiarize and train participants with international standards in craftsmanship to improve quality of handicraft products in Uzbekistan.
Edrik Ong Liang Bin, UNESCO international expert on artistic handicraft and design, will conduct the training. During the training, the Uzbek specialists will get acquainted with international standards and criteria, as well as principles and prerequisites of UNESCO programme “Quality Mark” – criteria, quality, authenticity, innovation, liquidity, prerequisites and ecological compatibility. It is expected that over 20 handicraftsmen across Uzbekistan will participate at the training.
During the training, the participants will familiarize with new ideas on principles of design of handicraft products, including forms and functions in design, colors, traditions and innovations, trends, local and international markets, etc.
The training will be held at Uzbekistan Applied Art Museum and the participants will be able review and evaluate collections of the museum.
