Tashkent to host the Uzbek-Japanese Agro-Food Industry Development Forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek-Japanese Forum on the Development of Agro-food Industry with the presentation of Japanese cuisine - a long-awaited event in bilaterial trade - economic cooperation and friendly ties between the two countries, will be held on 24 June 2024, at the International Hotel Tashkent.

The official organizer of the Forum on the Japanese side is the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries of Japan (MAFF) with participance and coordination by general incorporated foundation the Japan-Uzbekistan Silk Road Foundation with headquarters in Tokyo. 

The event is held within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation between MAFF Japan and the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan. It precedes the Summit of the Heads of the five Central Asian states and Japan, scheduled for August 2024 in our region.

With the co-organization and active participation and assistance of the Embassies of the two countries, the Ministry of Agriculture and the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of Republic of Uzbekistan, the Uzbekistan-Japan Center for Human Development (Uzbek-Japan Center), and “Uzbekistan Airways” JSC, a delegation consisting of representatives of relevant governmental organizations, top management and specialists of companies, regional administrations and agricultural cooperatives (JA) of Japan will take part in the Forum with presentations on the best practices and know-how of the Land of Rising Sun and new prospects for cooperation of two states.

The Forum will discuss new opportunities for further expansion of business contacts and export cooperation between the two countries in the agro-industrial sphere with the involvement of innovative potential and scientific achievements of Japan in Uzbekistan.

Japanese cuisine, bearing the brand of “cuisine of long-livers” is actively entering the markets of Central Asian states. Japanese dishes made from rice varieties of Higashikawa town of Hokkaido prefecture, premium fish products, popular in the world varieties of Japanese tea and sweets will be presented at the exhibition with the participation of Japanese cuisine specialists.
