Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 13-15 May, the First Coffee and Tea Festival 2022 will be held in the capital’s Blue Domes alley.

The organizers of the festival are the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Khokimiyat of the city of Tashkent, the Barista Association of Uzbekistan and the Makon TV channel.

The main goal of the festival is to create opportunities for the qualitative development of the coffee and tea industry and business, as well as promising cooperation and exchange of experience. In addition, special attention will be paid to the revival and development of national traditions of Uzbek tea drinking.

For example, you will be taught to distinguish the tastes of apricot, raspberry, chocolate, hazelnut in coffee. And, of course, no one will go hungry at the festival - every day there will be a large food court from the gastronomic projects of Tashkent.

In addition, competitions in professional skills will be held within the framework of the festival. First of all, this is the Uzbek Coffee Cup, a championship where baristas present their coffee shop, trying to convey its atmosphere to the judges and spectators through the presentation and taste of drinks.

A particularly spectacular event will be Latte Art CUP - Championship of Uzbekistan in the art of drawing with milk foam. The art of drawing milk foam on coffee attracts the attention of both barista and coffee shop visitors. A beautiful drawing allows you to draw attention to the drink, express yourself and turn a cup of coffee into a real holiday. More and more baristas are using the latte art technique in their daily work with milk drinks. The championship includes 3 separate rounds: preliminary, semi-final and final.

Another no less interesting tournament is the Uzbek Mixology Championship. There, participants must show the skills of not only a barista, but also bartenders. They have to prepare two synergistic and outstanding cocktails for the judges.

During the festival, guests will have a unique opportunity to get acquainted with the industry of specialty coffee, masterful tea and bean-to-bar chocolate. Visitors will be able to learn about the intricacies of brewing Turkish coffee, home-made methods for making coffee and tea, get advice on choosing coffee equipment for the home, recommendations on tasting chocolate and choosing milk for making coffee.

Particular attention was paid to a healthy lifestyle and recreation with children. In the Kids’ Zone, young guests of the Festival can taste delicious ice cream, relax, make face painting with face painting and paint gingerbread, and in the evening, the youngest visitors will be shown cartoons in the open air.

Seminars, lectures and tastings are planned in the Coffee&Tea LAB zone, the participants of which will receive a lot of useful and new information about hot drinks, get acquainted with rare varieties of coffee and tea.
