Tashkent to host concert of Grégory Privat Trio

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- As part of the international jazz festival in Uzbekistan, the French Embassy invites all jazz lovers to the only concert of the Grégory Privat Trio. The concert will take place in the Great Hall of the State Conservatory on 5 May at 19.00.

The French group, which includes Grigori Priva on piano and synthesizer, Christopher Jennings on double bass and Samuel Laviso on drums, will present their album "Soley".

In our time, when everyone likes something different, we need music that inspires and reunites us with its openness. Gregory Priva, a pianist originally from Martinique, who currently lives in Paris, was able to convey the spirit and sound of such music in his album "Soley". Compared to his previous albums "Soley" this is a significant breakthrough. As before, he performed his music with his due virtuosity, but always remained within the framework of jazz. This time, his music is something other than just jazz, jazz are present in it only as one of the constituent components.

Gregory Priva: “I didn’t want to focus only on jazz and tried to enjoy a whole range of different pieces of music. I mean pop as well as classical music and of course jazz which is still an important element. I began to sing and express my feelings through my voice. It was all extremely exciting."

The band’s soloist Gregory Priva is a virtuoso performer, he likes to experiment, in his album he performs his compositions not only on the piano, but also on an electronic keyboard instrument at the same time. It should be noted that he recently revealed his new talent as a singer, which he gently but surely integrated into his music.

The result of his work proved him right, especially since it is the variety of Prive’s music that allows the listener to enjoy it. His music has an amazing sense of immediacy and affects the listener on a physical, conscious and subconscious level.

Gregory Privat is a citizen of the world, the music he plays is the music of today. The openness, passion for storytelling and the natural lightness of his temperament take the listener beyond what he ordinarily expects from music.
