Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.uz) — Tashkent will host the Asian Table Tennis Championships for senior athletes for the first time in its history from 19 to 25 October. The continental tournament will take place at the Olympic Village.

A total of 255 athletes from 33 countries will compete in the tournament.

Medals will be awarded in four events: singles, doubles, mixed doubles and team competitions.

The team events will also serve as a qualifying stage for next year’s World Championships in Kazakhstan, with participants competing for places at the global tournament.

Uzbekistan will be represented by 10 athletes at the home championships.

From 12 October, the Uzbek players will begin their final training camp, which they will hold jointly with the national teams of North Korea and Kyrgyzstan.
