Tashkent Textile Summit - Uzbekistan strengthens its positions in the international arena

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent Textile Summit is a business platform that brings together leaders and experts of the global textile business in Central Asia. The Summit is dedicated to the topic "A new balance in the global textile market - new players and trends." The focus will be on issues of resource sustainability and traceability, textile innovation and recycling.

The summit is held by the Uztekstilprom association with the assistance of the Ministry of Investment and Foreign Trade, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan and with the participation of international partners – ITMF - the International Federation of Textile Manufacturers, UNECE and GIZ. .

Recently, representatives of the association took part in the international conference ITMF, held in Davos, Switzerland. In continuation of this conference, the participants will be presented with the Tashkent textile summit.

The purpose of the Textile summit is the entry of local textile enterprises into the export chain in the world market and acquaintance with foreign brands with the assistance of international organizations, as well as ensuring an increase in exports in the textile industry.

Among the participants of the event are representatives of prestigious organizations UNECE, ITMF, IFC, USAID, GIZ, Forum for the Future, Amfori, Gherzi, Grosso Modo, WRAP, Alibaba.com, UIT (French Textile Association) and speakers such as Maria Teresa Pisani, Christian Schindler, Norbert Blank, Rachel Beckett will take part with their presentations. Presentations will be held on the topics “Blockchain - the digital revolution of the textile supply chain”, “Development of Fast Fashion trends”, “Digitalization of Industry 4.0” and other topics. For the first time, the Summit will be moderated by Mark Jarvis, CEO of the world famous WTIN (UK International Textile Publication), and the Summit itself will be held in the form of debates and proposals.

A number of national associations, banks and financial institutions from the USA, Korea, Singapore, China, India, UAE, Bangladesh, Korea, Pakistan, Morocco, Egypt, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, other European and CIS countries, certification companies, foreign brands and retailers, buyers and representatives of the expert community, local businesses, representatives of specialized media are invited as guests.

It is expected that the most important presentation of the event "Independent reference report on the textile industry of Uzbekistan", prepared by the international consulting organization Gherzi under the auspices of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and the UNECE project "Enhancing the capacity of enterprises to use sustainable digital trade in the textile industry of Uzbekistan until 2024" will arise great interest among guests.

The summit will be attended by brand delegations from countries such as Germany, Italy and France, and there will be many meetings throughout the week. The delegations will have the opportunity to get acquainted with the potential of the textile industry of the Ferghana Valley, Samarkand, Bukhara and Jizzakh regions, as well as the Republic of Karakalpakstan.

Furthermore, for the first time in the history of the Tashkent Textile Week, the first fashion show of FIT (Fashion Incubator Tashkent) participants will take place. It will attract both local and foreign designers. This year's event is expected to be different. Such an event serves to reveal the potential of textiles and fashion in our country, to show its traditions and unique culture through clothing and textiles, to demonstrate production capabilities, to familiarize the general public with the achievements of the textile industry and programs implemented to support the industry in our country.

It should be noted that the Fashion Incubator Tashkent project is implemented with the help of the German Society for International Cooperation (GIZ) and is aimed at supporting designers starting their fashion business. This is the first show of 15 participants of the project, where the collections of local designers will be presented at the international level.

The Ready-to-wear show, which will present bright collections of foreign and domestic designers, as well as project graduates, will attract guests of the Tashkent Textile Week with its originality and novelty.

At the same time, within the framework of the Tashkent Textile Week, the Uztextile Expo 2022 exhibition and business visits to leading local manufacturing enterprises are expected.

An important part of the Tashkent Textile Week on October 10-14 is the International Exhibition of Textile and Fashion Industry “UzTextile Expo Autumn’22”. For many years it has been gathering under one roof companies and brands of, not only domestic manufacturers, but also other countries of the world.

The exhibition is traditionally the most important industry review of the achievements of the Uzbek textile and clothing and knitwear industry, demonstrating advanced developments and technologies, current trends in the production of clothing and textile products. The international level event will once again introduce the achievements and innovations of Central Asian and world leaders in the textile industry along the entire technological chain - from yarn to ready-made clothing and accessories.

A wide range of products made from Uzbek cotton will be presented: yarn, fabrics, knitted fabrics, non-woven fabrics, men's, women's and children's clothing, socks, underwear, knitwear, home textiles and much more.

The participation of the National Pavilions of manufacturers from Turkey and the Republic of Belarus, as well as well-known manufacturing companies from Russia, China and other countries, is planned for the autumn season exhibition.

To date, more than 100 companies have registered for participation, of which more than 80% are manufacturers from Uzbekistan.

The UzTextile Expo exhibition for many years since its formation in 2006 under the brand "Textile Expo Uzbekistan" has been the main place to meet with numerous local manufacturers and get acquainted with the latest industry innovations. The event is supported by the key department in the industry - the Uztekstilprom Association.

There is a "Special Buyer Program" for creating conditions for professional visitors - wholesale buyers of products for the most efficient and comfortable work at the exhibition.
