Tashkent metro transports 180,000-200,000 passengers a day
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- State unitary enterprise “Tashkent Metropoliten” (Tashkent Metro) rendered transport services for over 24 million passengers in the first five months of 2012, the head of the enterprise Bakhtiyar Sadikov said.

He said that Tashkent city underground transports about 180,000-200,000 passengers a day.

It was said that Tashkent Metro pays great attention to security of passengers and it promotes securities via banners in metro and trains.

Tashkent Metro fully completed introduction of video surveillance and monitors in all stations, which ensures full supervision of the underground.

Currently, Tashkent metro has three lines – Chilanzar with 12 stations, Uzbekistan with 11 stations and Yunusabad with six stations. Total length of the lines makes up 39 km. Tashkent Metro also has two depots and depot for repair of trains and production of spare parts.
