Tashkent Metro to acquire 14 new trains in 2025

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Tashkent Metro plans to add 14 new trains (56 cars) to its fleet.

This will allow for the renewal of the rolling stock and reduce the interval between trains to 2–4 minutes.

In 2019, 5 trains (20 cars) were acquired, followed by 10 trains (40 cars) in 2021, and 14 trains (56 cars) in 2024. As a result, the total number of metro trains will reach 78 (313 cars).

From 2017 to 2024, the length of the Tashkent Metro lines increased from 38 to 70.8 kilometers, and the number of stations grew from 29 to 50. In March 2024, as part of the second phase of the ground ring line project, a 3.6 km section from "Қурувчилар" to "Қипчоқ," which includes two stations, was put into operation.

As a result, the average daily ridership, which was 375,000 passengers in 2022, increased to 1 million passengers per day in 2024.
