Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — In 2025, Tashkent Metro plans to purchase 10 tunnel fans to modernize its outdated ventilation system. This was reported by Abdutoхir Abdukodirov, Deputy Head of the Metro Regime Service.
He noted that there have been numerous complaints from passengers regarding the ventilation system, particularly during the summer months.
"At several major stations, the ventilation system has already been upgraded. In 2025, we plan to acquire 10 large fans for further improvements," said Abdukodirov.
He also highlighted that the design of Tashkent Metro began in 1972, taking into account the climatic conditions of that time, when an air-drop cooling system was used.
Currently, each station is equipped with two large fans, although some major stations have already undergone modernization.
