Tashkent mayor signs decree allocating land for renovation project

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Tashkent Mayor Shavkat Umurzakov has signed a decree allocating land for a renovation project that will involve the demolition of old multi-story residential buildings on certain streets, to be replaced by new buildings constructed by investors.

The renovation program will cover areas in six districts of Tashkent. The largest portions of land have been allocated in the Yashnabad district (54.67 hectares), Shaykhantakhur district (36.82 hectares), and Sergeli district (35.15 hectares). In the Mirzo-Ulugbek district, 26.71 hectares will be renovated, while the Yakkasaray district will see 13 hectares, and the Chilanzar district will have 5 hectares.

In Yakkasaray district, the following areas have been designated for renovation: the "Tukimachi" mahalla, buildings 37, 39, and 41 on Glinka Street, the 4th alley of Bashlyk Street, and buildings 24, 26, and 28 on Babur Street.

According to the decree, specific sites on these lands will be identified for renovation. The old multi-story residential buildings will be demolished, and new buildings will be constructed in their place. The renovation process will be carried out by Tashkent Invest JSC in collaboration with city authorities.
