Tashkent khokimiyat wins a lawsuit against an Indian businessman who planned the construction of the Minerva City complex

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Tashkent khokimiyat won a lawsuit against an Indian businessman who planned the construction of the Minerva City complex in Yangikhayot district of Tashkent.

By a court decision from 29 January, 100 hectares of land allocated for the project returned to the state reserve, said the district khokim, Khayot Inogamov.

Representatives of Minerva City filed an appeal. However, the khokim noted that the appeal did not present arguments that could change the court’s decision. The final court decision is expected in the next 15 days.

Khokim Khayot Inogamov also noted that the company returned the money to all citizens who bought objects in the complex, with the exception of six people who decided to continue collaborating with the businessman on another project.

After the land is returned to the state reserve, it is planned to build residential buildings and a university on the construction site. The project involves the construction of housing for 35-40 thousand. people, as well as service and entertainment facilities.

Tashkent khokimiyat has already presented a project to investors from China that has aroused interest, and there is an investor ready to invest in the project.

In 2020, Indian businessman Murari Lal Jalan began implementing the Minerva City project in Tashkent. He also planned to invest in the Lake City project based on Lake Bakht.

In 2022, Murari Lal Jalan accused the then khokim of the city of Tashkent, Jahongir Artykhodjaev, of blackmail. In turn, the khokimiyat announced an attempt to discredit the civil servant and promised to submit an application to the Prosecutor General’s Office.

Several months ago, complaints appeared from citizens who purchased apartments in the new Minerva City building, but did not receive them on time and did not receive a refund.
