Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 17 January, Tashkent khokimiyat is developing a comprehensive plan of measures to improve air quality and solve problems with traffic congestion. This was stated in a statement by the Tashkent administration.

Key areas of the plan include ensuring environmental sustainability, reducing household waste, improving the public transport system, and creating infrastructure aimed at increasing priority for pedestrians and public transport on the roads.

The khokimiyat notes that to improve the environmental situation and preserve public health, decisions based on scientific research and analysis are needed to avoid negative consequences in the future.

Currently, in each area of the city administration there are working groups with the participation of local and foreign specialists.

Based on the findings of each group, presentations are prepared with practical measures that are planned to be implemented in the capital.

The khokimiyat noted that the project with a plan of measures will be presented to the public in the near future.
