Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 23 October, a meeting took place between Shavkat Umurzakov, the Khokim of Tashkent, and Arthur Parfenchikov, Head of the Republic of Karelia.
The main focus of the meeting was on strengthening regional cooperation and the prospects for joint projects.
Shavkat Umurzakov expressed satisfaction with the meeting, highlighting the growing interest of foreign countries in the development of Tashkent. He emphasized the importance of existing joint ventures and new initiatives aimed at renovating the city, improving transport infrastructure, and providing schools and kindergartens with quality centralized catering. During the discussion, Umurzakov talked about the potential of Tashkent Investment Company and expressed readiness to deepen cooperation.
Arthur Parfenchikov, for his part, wished Tashkent continued success, noting the significant changes that have occurred in the city over the past few years. He highlighted the increasing interest in the capital of Uzbekistan from tourists, as well as from representatives of official and business circles. The Head of Karelia proposed initiatives related to the development of public spaces, the installation of outdoor fitness equipment, and the creation of specialized parks for people with disabilities. Additionally, issues concerning the supply of construction materials, including crushed stone, building stone, and unique shungite, were discussed.
Shavkat Umurzakov emphasized the importance of creating an inclusive urban environment and localizing manufacturing enterprises, underlining the fruitfulness of the proposals made during the meeting.
This meeting demonstrated the readiness of both parties to collaborate and implement initiatives that promote sustainable development in the regions.
