Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Tashkent Film Festival, also known as the International Film Festival of Asia, Africa and Latin America, will be held from 28 September to 3 October in several cities of Uzbekistan in a fundamentally new, bright, innovative format, mainly aimed at to reveal the talents of youth.

The revival of the Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" is an initiative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The head of the Republic signed a decree on holding the event on 19 June.

The Pearl of the Silk Road is an innovative platform for the exchange of experience with international colleagues and a grandiose movie marathon that promises to be the cultural breakthrough of the year. Tashkent International Film Festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" will be held under the slogan "For Peace, Enlightenment and Progress!"

The opening of the international film festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" will take place in the reconstructed Palace of Cinema in Tashkent.

The grand opening of the long-awaited event - the international film festival "Pearl of the Silk Road" will take place in the building of the cinema, popularly known as "Panoramic", which was renamed the Palace of Cinema. Famous stars of world and national cinema and stage will take part in the opening ceremony.

At the moment, the cinema is undergoing a large-scale reconstruction - the building will be equipped with modern, high-tech equipment. A huge cinema hall, a hall for conferences and events will open here. But the main feature and attraction of the cinema will be the Museum of the History of Cinema, which will open within its walls. The exposition of the museum contains rare artifacts and exhibits related to the history of Russian cinema from the first day of its inception.

It should be noted that the major reconstruction will not change the appearance of the building as an architectural monument of the modernism era. The original facade of the cinema will remain.

"Cinema in 5 Days": a unique program for young filmmakers is planned at the Tashkent International Film Festival

The competition program "Cinema in 5 Days" will also be held. More than twenty young directors, laureates of international film festivals from 22 countries of the world, who will shoot short films about Uzbekistan, on the theme of the Great Silk Road, will become its participants. Novice filmmakers will have access to 13 major cities and 30 locations. In addition, the program participants will show their films as part of the New Generation Cinema festival.

Participants from Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Bulgaria, Germany, India, Iran, Spain, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Morocco, Mexico, Russia, Tajikistan, Ukraine, Philippines, France, Switzerland, Estonia, South Korea and Japan will arrive at the competition.

The members of the international jury will be well-known international masters of art, artists, scientists, art critics and film critics, leading experts in this field.

To reward young filmmakers who have received recognition from members of the international jury and fans, special prizes will be established for each additional nomination.

The winners of the competition held within the framework of the film festival will be awarded a diploma, a statuette and a cash prize.

For the 1st place in the "Cinema in 5 Days" program, the winners will receive US$15,000, the 2nd place - US$10,000, and the 3rd place - US$7,000.

Days of world cinema of 13 countries of the world will be held within the framework of the Tashkent International Film Festival.

Within the framework of the Festival, the Days of Cinema of the countries of the world will be held - Azerbaijan, Belarus, Egypt, Israel, India, Italy, Iran, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Poland, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Uzbekistan.

Days of World Cinema will be held throughout the entire film festival. Films will be screened in all cinemas of the country on 29 September. Each country will also present its films in the regions of the republic.

To date, more than 150 films have been received for the Days of World Cinema. Most of them will be shown with subtitles in Uzbek.

Over 150 famous filmmakers from the above-mentioned countries will attend the event. Among them are directors, actors, producers of films being shown, representatives of film distribution companies, international film festivals and organizations. Some of the names were announced at a press conference to be held on 22 September, the second part is kept secret by the organizers of the film festival.

Creative meetings will take place with famous directors and actors.

The delegation of each country will have a separately assigned location - a cinema or a theater. On 24 September, the press is planning to publish the program of the Days of World Cinema.

Within the framework of the International Tashkent Film Festival on the Day of Teacher and Mentor, the grand opening of the VGIK branch in Tashkent will take place

On 1 October, within the framework of the Tashkent International Film Festival, the opening of the first foreign branch of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography named after S.A. Gerasimov (VGIK) in Tashkent.

The organizers of the opening ceremony are the Agency of Cinematography of the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation and representatives of the All-Russian State Institute of Cinematography.

It should be noted that the training of students will be conducted in two specialties - "drama" and "production". 50% of places for students are paid for from the state budget.

A separate building will be opened on the territory of the Agency for Cinematography for the VGIK branch.

Next year, the opening of a youth media center is planned in the building of the Agency of Cinematography. It is created so that students can hone their practical skills and communicate with famous filmmakers.

Focus on youth: a grandiose educational program for aspiring filmmakers planned at the Tashkent International Film Festival

Within the framework of the Tashkent International Film Festival, famous world filmmakers throughout the days of the event will conduct lectures and master classes, seminars, trainings for novice cinematographers of Uzbekistan.

Several dozen educational events are planned. For this purpose, special pavilions are being built on the territory of Uzbekfilm, convenient locations are being created, and the necessary equipment is being installed.

Such close attention to youth is due to the fact that 2021 in our country has been declared the Year of Supporting Youth and Strengthening the Health of the Population.

Six cinemas to open in Uzbekistan during the Tashkent International Film Festival

Within the framework of the film festival, six cinemas will be opened in Tashkent and other cities of the republic.

In Tashkent, it is the reconstructed Palace of Cinema named after A. Alisher Navoi, which includes 4 halls and over 3,300 seats, the Renaissance Hall cinema and concert hall, designed for almost 2,000 seats. A Family Park cinema with three halls for 450 seats will open in Samarkand.

In Bukhara, after a major reconstruction, the opening of the Bukhara cinema with two halls for 434 seats, the Chinor Cinema with two halls for 225 seats, a cinema in the Bukhara shopping and entertainment center with three halls for 340 seats will take place.

In Khiva, the renovated cinema named after Khudoybergen Devanov with one hall for 320 seats will open its doors to the audience.

Domestic Netflix: A streaming platform with a collection of Uzbek films of all times will be presented

A pilot version of the multimedia streaming platform - the domestic analogue of the famous Netflix platform - will be presented at the film festival. The platform will allow you to watch your favorite films produced in Uzbekistan for all time, as well as in conjunction with international directors and actors.

It will be possible to watch films, cartoons on TV, tablet / phone, as well as through the WEB browser.

All films and cartoons will be divided into categories for easy search and viewing. You can add a movie you like to the "Favorites" section and watch it at any time.

At the moment, more than 100 films and cartoons, both fiction and documentary, are available for viewing on the platform through the WEB application.

At the International Tashkent Film Festival, agreements on the creation of co-products with foreign countries will be signed

Within the framework of the International Tashkent Film Festival, it is planned to sign agreements between the Agency of Cinematography and foreign film companies for the production of joint films.

It is planned to conclude agreements with film companies from Russia, Belarus, Turkey, Iran, Tajikistan, Kazakhstan.

In addition, the festival will show several new films created by the Agency of Cinematography and Russian companies. This is the presentation of the film "The Sun Tastes", the screening of the first versions of the films "Peri’s Gift", "Baron-2".

Documentary films from 10 countries of the world will be shown at the International Tashkent Film Festival

Since the beginning of September, on the Alley of Writers in Tashkent, an action has been taking place to show a 24-episode documentary series dedicated to the great figures of literature and art of Uzbekistan. The screenings are organized by the universities of Uzbekistan in cooperation with the Agency of Cinematography.

This action precedes the screenings of documentaries at the International Tashkent Film Festival.

The documentary films from 10 countries of the world will be shown at the film festival. About 40 famous documentary filmmakers from all over the world will come to the event. They will present their new films, as well as hold a series of master classes for young filmmakers of Uzbekistan.

What events await guests and participants of the International Tashkent Film Festival within the framework of the "National Cinema" block?

A number of events are expected within the block dedicated to national cinema. So, during the days of the film festival, more than 20 schools of the country will be named after the great filmmakers of Uzbekistan.

In addition, a unique book about the history of Russian cinema, which was prepared for about one and a half, will be presented.

The opening ceremony of the former famous Uzbek filmmaker Shukhrat Abbasov will take place at the place of his burial.

A campaign is also planned for the transfer by the Agency of Cinematography of Uzbekistan to the Ministry of Preschool Education of domestic cartoons brought from the State Film Fund of Russia. This project, which has been underway for a year, is sponsored by the World Society for the Study, Preservation and Popularization of the Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan.

With the support of the World Society, an exhibition of posters of Uzbek cinema will also be held, including historical posters, a real masterpiece and the value of domestic cinema. During the exhibition, more than 50 posters will be donated to the Museum of the History of Cinema, which will open at the Palace of Cinema in Tashkent.

Famous animators will visit the International Tashkent Film Festival

Special attention at the upcoming film festival will be devoted to animated films. It is planned to hold a special action to open a school of animators in Uzbekistan, in which famous animators will teach.

In addition, Uzbekistan will take part in an international project to prepare a cartoon about children with disabilities. International animation project.

World famous animators who have shot cartoons well known to children and adults around the world are expected to attend the Tashkent International Film Festival.

Closing of the film festival

On the final day of the International Tashkent Film Festival "The Pearl of the Silk Road", the grand opening of the Renaissance Hall cinema and concert hall, a grandiose building designed for almost 2000 seats, will take place.
