Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan organized the event within the GIZ programme “Assistance to sustainable development of economy in some regions of Uzbekistan”.
Uzbekistan pays great attention to development of out-work and craftsmanship. Carpet production takes special place in craftsmanship.
Head of department on attracting foreign investments of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan Nazira Dadahanova said production of carpet is widely spread in many regions and about 30,000 households are engaged in this process.
She said that wool and silk handmade carpets are becoming popular in the international market. In order to further develop this sector, Uzbekistan organized special courses for specialists to expand exports of carpet production and exports. The first two phases of the training took place in November 2013 and February 2014.
During the training, local and foreign specialists discussed carpet designs, production, use of high technologies, including Galaincha software.
The software is effective and convenient tool for designing, visualization, dyeing and production of the carpets. The software allows to rate use of materials and determine the prime cost of the ready goods.
Foreign experts highly rates talent of the Uzbek carpet makers and designers, as well as high quality of their products. Use of modern technologies should make popular them in international markets.
