Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The profession of a guide became widespread and in demand in the 70s of the 20th century, when tourism became ubiquitous and took pride of place among the sectors of the world economy.
On 21 February 1985, the World Federation of Tourist Guide Associations was founded in Austria. Initially, it included members of 15 states in which tourism was most developed, and to date, more than 70 countries are represented in the association.
On 21 February 2023, on the day when the entire world tourism community will widely celebrate the international professional holiday - World Guide Day, the hotel complex "Radisson Blu Hotel, Tashkent" opened its doors to all participants of the next 6th "Guide Forum of Uzbekistan-2023" " Excursion activity: cooperation and innovations”.
Such an important event for the tourism industry was organized by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Uzbekistan and the Research Institute for the Study of Cultural Heritage and Tourism Development in honor of this significant date.
The Uzbekistan Guide Forum 2023 served as a live platform for the meeting of more than 250 participants, where a dialogue and discussion of the prospects for the development of one of the important areas of the tourism industry - excursion activities will take place.
Representatives of the public and private sector, professional tour guides, translators with many years of experience, experienced instructors, well-known scientists, as well as international experts exchanged knowledge, new ideas and developments.
At the Forum, the speakers presented their vision of the further development of the tourism and hospitality sector, as a strategic sector of the economy of the republic, the prospects for the diversified and high-quality formation of a professional community of guides, and also considered other topical issues, including the issues of training new personnel for this type of tourism activity.
It should be noted that within the framework of the Forum, a book fair "Travel with a book" was organized, where participants will find a large selection of books in various areas (history, archeology, religious studies, specialized topics, etc.), which are of interest to both professional guides and experts tourism industry.
In addition, novelties from leading national publishing houses and research institutes, as well as copies of special equipment for the excursion public, and more were presented during the fair.
The holding of the next 6th "Forum of guides of Uzbekistan-2023". "Excursion activity: cooperation and innovation" will give a new impetus to the development of diverse cooperation, will allow the presentation of innovative technologies and new promising cultural and educational projects to the excursion community and tourism industry professionals.
