Tashkent hosts the Uzbek-Emirates business forum

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 15 March 2020, Tashkent hosted the Uzbek-Emirates business forum, organized by the Ministry of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

The event was attended by Deputy Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Sarvar Khamidov, President and CEO of Dubai Chambers Mohammad Ali Rashed Luta, heads of relevant ministries, departments, commercial banks and industry associations, as well as about 100 representatives of business circles of the two countries.

In their speeches, the speakers emphasized the existing positive experience of investment and trade and economic cooperation between representatives of the business circles of the two states, the conditions created in Uzbekistan for the implementation of joint projects and the expansion of trade relations, and also called on the entrepreneurs of the two countries to conclude new investment agreements and trade contracts.

During the Forum, an expert session was held to familiarize colleagues from the UAE with the investment, trade, economic, logistics potential, tax, customs and banking sectors of Uzbekistan.

The participants of the event also had the opportunity to comprehensively study the conditions created in a particular sector of the economy, including in certain free economic zones, for conducting investment and foreign trade activities in Uzbekistan, identify common interests, consider prospects for cooperation and specific project proposals for further joint elaboration.

In order to discuss the practical aspects of cooperation in specific areas and projects, G2B and B2B meetings were held. The format of the open dialogue allowed the parties to identify specific points of common interests.

As a result of the business forum, agreements were reached on the implementation of joint projects in the energy, textile, tourism development, electrical engineering and food production, as well as in construction and pharmaceuticals, the MIPT press service reports.
