Tashkent hosts the 7th meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 26 April, the 7th joint meeting of the Uzbek-Russian Russian-Uzbek Business Council was held in Tashkent. The event was held as part of the International Industrial Exhibition “INNOPROM. Central Asia 2023”.

The Uzbek-Russian Business Council was established in 2005 on the basis of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Uzbekistan and Russia in order to assist the business circles of the two countries in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships, implementing joint investment projects, as well as finding solutions to issues arising in the way of cooperation between Uzbek and Russian enterprises.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan J. Khodjaev, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation D. Manturov, Chairman of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Republic of Uzbekistan D. Vakhabov, Chairman of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council , President of ER-Telecom Holding JSC A. Kuzyaev, Deputy Minister of Investments and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kh. Teshabaev, Deputy Minister of Economic Development of the Russian Federation D. Volvach, member of the Russian-Uzbek Business Council, President of the South Ural CCI F. Degtyarev and other.

The parties spoke about the trade, economic and investment potential of the regions of Uzbekistan and Russia, indicating the most promising areas of bilateral cooperation.

It should be noted that according to the results of the previous year, Russia became the main trading partner of Uzbekistan - the mutual trade turnover between the two countries amounted to about US$9.2 billion, an increase of 22.9% compared to 2021.

The meeting also focused on the further development cooperation through business councils, which provide practical assistance to entrepreneurship. After all, in addition to solving specific issues of interaction, the councils strive to ensure the fulfillment of contractual obligations, which fully meets the interests of both countries.

During the meeting, the results of the activities of the Uzbek-Russian Business Council over the past period were considered, as well as the tasks for the coming period, promising areas of foreign trade cooperation and intersectoral cooperation between enterprises and organizations of the two countries.
