Tashkent hosts roundtable on development of e-government
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Communication History Museum hosted a roundtable entitled “Development of electronic government in Uzbekistan” with the participation of international experts and heads of ministries and departments on 28 April 2015.

International experts from the United Nations Department for Economic and Social Affairs (UN-DESA) Mr. Richard Kerby and Mr. Vyacheslav Cherkasov, senior advisors on e-government and public administration, participated in the event.

It was noted that open data portal (data.gov.uz) and single interactive services portal (my.gov.uz) were launched in Uzbekistan. The first portal provides open data for users, while the second provides services to population and businesses, as well as people can participate in discussions of resolutions and laws.

The participants familiarized with such tools as (the Measurement and Evaluation Tool for E-Government Readiness (METER) and Measuring and Evaluating e-Participation (METEP). The UN experts will provide more information on METER and METEP during special trainings for specialists of the state bodies on 29-30 April 2015.

This visit is jointly organized by UNDP’s “E-Government promotion for improved public service delivery” project and the Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications and the Center for E-government Development.
