Tashkent hosts inaugural meeting of the “CT TECH+” Program for Uzbekistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 27 February, Tashkent hosted the official presentation of the “CT TECH+” program for Uzbekistan. This initiative is part of the Global Counter-Terrorism Program on Cybersecurity and Emerging Technologies and is funded by the European Union (EU).
The event aimed to formally introduce the “CT TECH+” program in Uzbekistan and coordinate an action plan for 2025–2026.
The meeting was organized by the United Nations Counter-Terrorism Centre (UNCCT) and INTERPOL, with support from the Institute for Strategic and Interregional Studies under the President of Uzbekistan and the Academy of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Uzbekistan.
Participants included representatives of government agencies, law enforcement bodies, and academic institutions.
The “CT TECH+” program is designed to strengthen national counter-terrorism strategies, enhance the technological capabilities of law enforcement agencies, and promote international cooperation in tackling terrorist threats linked to emerging technologies. The initiative includes specialized training in:
Artificial Intelligence (AI) applications
Open-Source Intelligence (OSINT)
Cyberterrorism prevention
Combating illicit activities in the dark web
The official agenda featured speeches from representatives of the UN, EU, and Uzbekistan, discussions on global and regional cybersecurity challenges, and the development of collaborative strategies within the “CT TECH+” framework.
