Tashkent hosts first master class on programming Django Girls
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Inha University in Tashkent and Super Dispatch organized a free master class on programming Django Girls in Uzbekistan for the first time on 26 November 2017.

Django Girls is a worldwide initiative, the main purpose of which is popularization of programming, in particular Python and Django, among girls through the organization of master classes .

Since 2014, an army of 1,219 volunteers in the Django Girls community organized 544 events in 353 cities in 81 countries. Over 12,200 women worldwide attended these events.

In each event, about 30-70 participants create their first web-project using HTML, CSS, Python and Django.

Django Girls Tashkent is a part of Django Girls worldwide initiative and provides an opportunity for girls (and not only) to join immerse themselves in the programming world.

The event was organized by Inha University in Tashkent and Super Dispatch, as well as the international community Django Girls. Ground Zero, MyTaxi, GitHub and Python supported the project.

Over 70 girls took part in the master-class at Inha University in Tashkent. The participants were divided into the group and skillful mentors helped them to learn programming on Django based on training programme of Django Girls.

During the master class, the participants learnt Django templates, Python, HTML and CSS, as well as using the github project.

Hilola Umarov, an organizer of Django Girls Tashkent, said: “The project is directed at attracting girls to information technologies sector as there is still gender imbalance in the industry. The master-class showed the girls that the coding is easy and very interesting.”
