Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A new Tashkent City Pediatric Multi-Profile Hospital with 500 beds will be established on the basis of the Zangiata-2 Hospital, which was previously designated for treating COVID-19 patients.
On 24 July, the government of Uzbekistan approved a resolution for the creation of the new hospital. According to the document, the operations of the infectious disease hospital Zangiata-2 will be ceased.
The infectious disease hospital will be replaced by a pediatric multi-profile clinic, organized as a state institution.
The new facility will provide necessary medical examinations for children up to 18 years old and offer high-quality medical and specialized inpatient care.
The hospital will also offer practical and methodological support to district medical organizations and contribute to the implementation of modern medical technologies and management methods in medical institutions in Tashkent.
Additionally, the new institution will be involved in the training, retraining, and professional development of medical personnel.
The refurbishment of the Zangiata-2 building and premises for the pediatric multi-profile hospital is expected to be completed by 1 September.
It should be noted that the Zangiata-1 and Zangiata-2 hospital complex was built in 2020 in response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
